Why Kingston?
We see Kingston as a hub for climate leadership and innovation—we were at the Kingston Climate Summit this past June. That’s why OREC is making a concerted effort to grow our membership here. We’ve already had preliminary discussions with Queen’s University, Limestone District School Board, and RMC/CFB Kingston about developing local green energy projects. We need your support to get one of these to across the finish line. We also know Kingston faces its share of environmental challenges—from wildfire smoke events (that's your city in the photo!) to rising energy demands—and that local solutions are more resilient than relying on power from hundreds of kilometers away.
