In celebration of Earth Day, the Glebe Community Association is hosting the Old Home Earth Day Event to provide residents of older homes with an opportunity to learn and share ways they can conserve energy, reduce carbon emissions and live more sustainability.

Panel on Energy Transition Incentives

From 10:00 to 11:30, attend a discussion moderated by Paul Dewar and including renewable energy experts such as:

  • Janice Ashworth – General Manager of OREC
  • Jay Nordestrom – North American Insulation Manufacturers' Association
  • Chris Young – Energy management & environmental services


Hear community leaders offer their views on building a sustainable future in Ottawa’s established neighbourhoods.


Topics include mapping your home’s carbon footprint, the basics of insulation, drafts and waterproofing, cost effective upgrades, adapting new technologies, and strategies to achieve passive heating and cooling.

Neighbours Corners

Throughout the afternoon, grab a coffee or tea and join an informal discussion with neighbours about their experiences with home renovations, retrofits and upgrades.


Between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM find out about people, businesses, and community organizations who are ready to help you.
